Event: Infragard Cybersecurity Forensics Symposium
Date & Time: Monday, October 15th at 1 PM
Venue: NCSA - Urbana, IL
John's talk will cover the basics of cybersecurity threat intelligence, an emerging discipline using techniques and methods from the intelligence community to detect, prevent, and disrupt hackers and attacks. A key focus will be spent on threat intelligence sharing so that communities can share information in actionable ways. Meaning, if one falls victim to an attack, not all need to fall to the same attack.
Cybersecurity threat intelligence is a high-priority item in both how our nation protects itself and how industry is working on developing communities to do the same. This talk will focus mostly on open-source intelligence and open-source tools so individuals can start diving into sharing intelligence with their peers.
