Tomás Byrnes - Founder and CEO
Tom has held a variety of engineering, sales and support leadership positions in both private industry and the military, including: US Army Signal Corps, Radware and Datatech. In the mid 1990s, he was CTO of an ISP and e-commerce hosting company ADNC.com. In the early 2000s, he was Senior VP of Technology at Zero Gravity Internet Group, a venture capital fund that provided the initial financing to Oingo, which you know today as Google Adwords/Adsense. Tom has been involved in the Internet and related technologies since he first logged on to ESANET in 1981.
David Ehrlich is a successful Silicon Valley executive, having held a wide range of executive roles in technology companies of various stages and sizes, and having served as a Director on a number of technology company Boards. His focus is helping companies work through product-market strategy, business model, and go-to-market challenges, as well as working with executive teams on models of leadership, communication, and culture. Currently, David is the CEO of Aktana Inc., a pioneer in decision-support for field sales teams in the life sciences industry. Prior to Aktana, David worked with Mohr Davidow Ventures as an Executive in Residence. From early 2007 to early 2010, David was the CEO of ParAccel, a leader in analytic database systems. From 2003 through 2006 he worked as NetIQ Corp., where he was the Senior Vice President, Marketing and Chief Strategy Officer.
A founder and senior executive in 7 startup technology companies, Tom Bennett is a seasoned entrepreneur & proven technology executive, with a strong track in developing companies into market leadership positions. Over two decades, Tom has launched several new companies, brought 8 pioneering new technology solutions to market, and managed 30+ products through the technology life cycle. He has raised more than $80M in venture capital and been a guiding hand towards successful exits totaling $463M. An acknowledged cybersecurity domain expert, Tom currently holds a high Department of Defense security clearance. A lifelong surfer and passionate waterman, Tom has competed in the 32-mile, Molokai2Oahu open ocean paddleboard race. Also an avid backcountry skier and snowboarder, Tom founded Tribal Snowtools, a Park City based designer of performance tools for elite free-ride and backcountry athletes. Tom holds an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, and currently lives in the mountains near Park City, Utah.
Boris Veksler - COO
Boris has over 20 years of experience in project management, software development and consulting engineering. Boris comes to ThreatSTOP from Betria Systems where he built complex software such as a web application firewall for Windows IIS, a super fast neural networks cluster running 4,000 stream cores, and SaaS offerings products for youth sports market and others. Prior to Betria, Boris served as VP of Engineering and IT for TradeBeam and was responsible for building and operating global trade management systems for clients including Johnson Controls, Neiman Marcus and Tyco. He received his M.B.A. from the Anderson School at UCLA, and an M.S. and B.S. in Structural Analysis and Mathematics from St. Petersburg Technical University.
Brian Nugent is a seasoned technology industry executive, entrepreneur and board director, with a proven record of driving software, SaaS, hardware and IT Services companies to market leadership positions. In addition to Accelerate-IT, Brian’s board expertise is currently active as the Board Chairman of Zephyr Photonics, an optical networking provider founded in 1987; and most recently with Brightcloud – a cloud-based security firm that was acquired by Webroot. Brian is a member of the ‘Alliance of CEOs’, the San Diego Venture Group, and is a frequent lecturer at CEO consortium’s such as the ‘CEO Total Access Series’. Brian’s twenty year technology industry operational experience spans executive leadership posts across public and private companies in general management (CEO/COO), sales, marketing, product management, corporate development, business development and customer service across the security, communications, cloud, social media, telecom and data networking industries. Brian was most recently the Chief Operating Officer at EdgeWave, a secure content management solutions company where he led a year-long business transformation process (OTC:EWVE). Prior to EdgeWave Brian was Chairman & CEO of Applied Identity, a policy-driven identity management solutions provider for the enterprise, government and MSP sectors. Applied Identity was acquired in March of 2010 by Citrix Systems (NASDAQ:CTXS). He is active in a variety of charitable organizations and is a Board Member of PEERS (www.peersnetwork.org).
